GWINN -- State Senator Tom Casperson reaffirmed his commitment to the elderly on Friday in a Gwinn town hall meeting.

The Marquette County Aging Board hosted the forum at the Club House in Gwinn.

Casperson fielded questions from senior citizens and professionals in the business of senior care.  He spoke on a broad range of issues from the possibility of privatization at Jacobetti Home for Veterans to infrastructure projects.

Casperson reassured those who expressed concern over possible cuts, that tough economic times should not mean abandoning services for seniors.

"I'm going to suggest to folks involved in appropriations that this is something that should be a priority," said Senator Casperson.  "That this rises to that kind of level and so that's the role I'll play is highlighting what I heard and bring it to their attention.  And let them know that I think it is a priority and they offer a great service."

Casperson accepted an invitation to eat lunch with constituents following the town hall.
