MARQUETTE -- A U.P. wide conference on energy was held Wednesday in Marquette.

Over 200 participants discussed common issues like increases in energy costs.

They're working to find solutions that will allow the U.P. industry to grow.

"Every single business needs power; every single industry needs power and right now in the U.P. we're maxed out on the power that we have available," said Michigan's Chief Energy Policy Officer, Valerie Brader.  "So the only way you can grow is to shut something down, and that's not a good situation.  That's not a situation that the administration or the legislation likes.  We need to find a solution that lets the U.P. grow."

The Chair of the Michigan Public Service Commission also spoke about future increases in energy costs.
