U.P. community gets funding for new sidewalks and crosswalks

MANISTIQUE -- Another Upper Peninsula community will be receiving funding as part of the Safe Routes to School program.

Emerald Elementary and Manistique Middle School, working with the city, will have new sidewalks and crosswalks installed on several streets.

This includes Garden, Michigan, and Manistique Avenues, along with Maple and Cattaraugus Streets.

The budget for the projected work is just over $266,000.
