ISHPEMING -- Every winter season, some families have to buy new winter clothes for their kids because they've outgrown them.
But Saturday at the Ishpeming Armory, families had the opportunity to replenish their children's winter wardrobe for free thanks to "Project Keep Kids Warm".
In preparation of the distribution, youth collected generously donated clothing like coats, mittens, ear muffs, and hats from the community throughout the month of October.
"We've had hundreds of families come to receive this clothing, and it's been a very heartfelt affair to be a part of that and watch families go out the door with clothing that they need to stay warm this winter," said Project Coordinator, Richard Derby.
This is the second year for the project.
It's sponsored by Wesley United Methodist Church with help from the Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul.
