The sale will continue Sunday at Prime Assemblies in Crystal Falls at 9 a.m. until noon

CRYSTAL FALLS, MI -- A small community has stepped up to the plate following one family's tragedy, raising thousands Saturday in support with a rummage sale.

A motorcycle accident killed one Skrzyniarz family member, leaving another seriously injured and out of work.

To support the family, organizers asked the community for donations to host a rummage sale and say they were overwhelmed with the results.

They expect to have raised $4,000 so far, but the community isn't just coming for bargains.

"We had people that came in and bought a $200 cup of coffee," said Cynthia Rahoi.  "Another gal just bought a hot dog for $50."

The sale will continue Sunday at Prime Assemblies in Crystal Falls at 9 a.m. until noon.  They still have quite a few items for sale, including larger furniture items, like TVs and a dining room table and chairs.
