SAULT STE. MARIE -- The Sault Ste. Marie Michigan State Police Post is investigating a fatal car crash that occurred on October 8 on West Lake Shore Drive.

A vehicle driven by 19-year-old Marcus Church left the roadway and overturned several times. He was taken to War Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.  The passenger of the vehicle, 20-year-old Alicia Semasky was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Michigan State Troopers are still investigating the crash, but believe lack of safety belt and alcohol were factors in the crash.  If you witnessed the crash, please contact the Michigan State Police at (906) 632-2217.
