NEGAUNEE -- A Negaunee church is celebrating its 125th anniversary.

The last time Bethany Lutheran Church celebrated an anniversary was its 100th in the 1980s.

This year's celebrations started on Saturday evening with a program that gave all former pastors the opportunity to speak.  One of them spoke at Sunday's service.

"The church has had a great gathering of people with a belief.  It really is a church family," said Church Archivist, Marguerite Waters.  "It's almost like a family reunion, and I came from another church in another town and when I came over here, I felt immediately a part of it."

The celebration included worship services, reports on church history, plans for the future, and, of course, potluck dinners.
