A Coast Guard helicopter and K-9 assisted in the rescue
STONINGTON PENINSULA -- A 70-year-old hunter, reported lost late Saturday night, has been found.
Michigan State Police Gladstone Post were dispatched to Stonington Peninsula to search for the hunter after he shot a deer.
With the help of an Escanaba Public Safety K-9, officials located the deer, and then a Traverese City Coast Guard helicopter was able to locate the hunter using the deer's coordinates.
The hunter was found uninjured and escorted to safety.
