ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP -- Just more than a year after its beginning, the Greater Ishpeming Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce is opening the doors of a brand new office.
The chamber was previously located at the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in Ishpeming and chose to move to its new location near Jubliee Foods off US-41 in Ishpeming Township.
Members will now have a larger area to meet and promote their business.
"There was a chamber here in their own building ten years ago," said Chamber Executive Director, Elizabeth Peterson. "It was something that the community really loved having. I think business owners, residents, just apperciate that it's back, and there's somebody working for this end of the county."
As part of the opening ceremonies, the chamber donated $2,000 to the Ishpeming Ski Club.
The chamber is sharing the space with 'Yooper Shirts.'
Chamber office hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Yooper Shirts will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
