Restoration efforts will continue into the weekend.

Utility crews are making progress restoring power across Upper Michigan.

There are about 1,000 customers with the Marquette Board of Light and Power who still don't have electricity.  The BLP hopes to have all service restored by late Saturday afternoon.

About 4,900 UPPCO customers remained in the dark Friday evening, mainly in the Ishpeming service area.  Forty crews are working to restore power and an additional dozen or more are being brought in to expedite the effort.

Specific restoration times for UPPCO customers are not known, but crews will work through the weekend.

The Alger Delta Cooperative has about 800 customers without power.

General Manager Tom Harrell says crews are coming in from Wisconsin this weekend to add more manpower to the restoration effort.

There's no estimate on when power will be restored.  Harrell says if you believe your neighbor's power is back on and yours has not been restored, call 906-428-4141.  He says if it's busy, keep trying.
