MARQUETTE -- Many mountain bikers know the Upper Peninsula is a great place to bike, and this weekend a group is holding an event aimed to get kids out on the trails.
The Noquemanon Trail Network along with the International Mountain Biking Association will hold their first Take a Kid Mountain Biking day this weekend.
It starts at 2:00 p.m. at the south Marquette trail head with games, contests and prizes.
At 3:00 p.m. there are group rides through the trails. The goal is to bring families together on the trails.
"Because we live in this great spot that there's neat things to do in this community, and mountain biking is one of those family friendly sports where everyone can do it together at the same time," said Derek Anderson of the Noquemanon Trail Network. "The whole family can go out and enjoy the great nature setting we have here in Marquette."
All kids need to participate is a helmet and their parent's permission.
