ESCANABA -- Escanaba is one of three Michigan communities awarded federal funds to help improve their airline service.

They are among 29 nationwide that are dividing $15 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Small Community Air Service Development program.

Escanaba is receiving $72,500 to market the community's new essential air service subsidized jet air service.

Kalamazoo and Manistee were also awarded grants.
