ESCANABA -- The Holy Name School in Escanaba has a new computer lab that was set up by Bay College students and other community members.
The $30,000 project was made possible through volunteer hours and donated funds.
They built a new platform and installed 33 new computers. The room is also used for Spanish classes, and the construction was finished a week before school started.
"We use the computers to type our essays and do a lot of other things with them," said Student Council President Katie Ziebell. "So it's easier to get our work done faster with them being faster, because the other ones loaded really slow last year."
The lab can now accommodate a larger class. It's also easier for teachers to keep an eye on students since the computers now all face the same direction.
