If you were traveling through Skandia Sunday, you might have gotten a whiff of something delicious, and some of you may have even followed your noses to find out just what it was

SKANDIA -- Four hundred ticket buyers did just that...and found themselves a chicken BBQ at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Skandia.

The church called upon U.P. chicken roasters, Croatian Village, to provide a large chicken rotisserie right in their backyards.  The purpose?  To raise funds, and more importantly, draw new members.

"We have a lot of people that just see our sign and see that we're selling chickens and they're stopping in, so that's exciting.  They see that there's something going on today and they're stopping in," says Emanuel Lutheran Church Pastor Kate Schruba.

Six dollars got you a quarter chicken, $10 got you a half.
