There was also an Out of the Darkness walk in Iron Mountain
MARQUETTE -- More than 100 people walked through Marquette Saturday to show their support for suicide prevention. This is the fourth year for the walk.
The route took the walkers from the Marquette Commons, along Lakeshore Boulevard to Picnic Rocks.
"This is a time for people to come out and heal and just walk for somebody, in memory of that person, like a loved one, a friend, or a coworker," says coordinator Alyson Luff. "There are survivors out there, and people who have accepted suicide can come out of the darkness and, basically, feel like they're not alone."
Before the walk during registration, informational booths were set up for anyone wanting to find out more about suicide prevention. Some folks even purchased memory balloons for their lost loved ones.
