ESCANABA -- Filmmakers John Major and Frida Waara visited Bay College in Escanaba to share a documentary they filmed partly in Antarctica.
The film is called Condition One, and it's a project that uncovers the contrasts of life in urban Detroit and the extreme nature of the South Pole.
The pair describes the continent of Antarctica as a polar desert. And they call the film Condition One because it reveals the resiliency of the human spirit in both bitter temperatures or big cities with high crime.
"I think for John and I, we're looking forward to wrapping this up and getting the filming done in Detroit, which is probably a little bit more on the scary side than going to Antarctica was. So that was quite the adventure," said Waara.
The team said polar regions are the most fascinating places to visit.
