ISHPEMING -- Patients, employees and visitors of Bell Hospital were treated to a farmer's market to raise awareness for a new community garden.
The farmer's market was held in Bell Hospital's parking lot and featured over a dozen vendors selling fresh vegetables and handmade crafts.
The goal of the market was to promote Bell's green initiative to improve human and environment health.
As part of the market, Bell representatives promoted their community garden, which will open next spring.
"Community gardens by themselves allow gardeners almost a therapeutic sense to go out and work their own garden and enjoy the sunlight and things," said Assistant Foundation Director Kori Tossava. "It's really going to benefit our patients as well because our patients that have a stay overnight are going to look out the window and see the community garden."
You can purchase a bed in the garden for $30. For more information, you can go to Bell's website.
