ESCANABA -- An official announcement was put on NewPage Corporation's website stated that they have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The corporation says this is being done to help restructure the debt the company has and ensure the long-term success of the business.

NewPage has posted a website to detail the restructuring of the company, but there is no specific information about the Escanaba paper mill at this time.

There has been no statement made concerning the announcement that was posted in August concerning the Escanaba location.

A public relations representative from the Escanaba paper mill says there are no expected changes at the location, but bankruptcies can be painful.
