A 74-year-old man accused of threatening a Michigan congressman pleaded guilty Friday.

(AP) -- The Bay City Times says Russell Hesch sent threatening emails to Bart Stupak when he represented northern Michigan in Congress in 2010.

Hesch was charged with writing a letter that threatened to paint the Mackinac Bridge with Stupak's blood, because he voted for a health-care law pushed by President Barack Obama.

Hesch could face up to a year in prison.

He will be sentenced December 15th.
