ISHPEMING -- A group of middle school kids got the chance to learn basketball techniques from a pro on Thursday.
Former professional player, Jason Otter, put on the basketball camp. Kids at Aspen Ridge Elementary participated in foundational drills focusing on efficiency of movement and how they can train themselves at home.
Otter started his career in Merrill, Michigan before playing in college and professionally in Australia. He says the goal of his camp is to teach a basic foundation that can be used on and off the court.
"We always tell the kids, you know, there's one thing no one can stop you from doing, and that's going out and working harder than anyone else around you and being students of the game," said Otter. "And we want them to transfer that to everything they do, not just basketball."
Otter and his crew have put on 76 camps in just 74 days this summer.
