GRAND MARAIS -- A pre-bid meeting will be held in Grand Marais Tuesday for potential contractors.

Township officials and project engineers will meet with contractors interested in the project and exchange ideas and concepts for how to build the breakwater.

About 10 to 15 contractors from Michigan and Wisconsin are expected to attend.

"We got a list from the Corps of Engineers on contractors that are capable of doing this job so, as we proceed with this, hopefully we'll have a few other contractors that maybe are interested in it," said Burt Township Supervisor, Jack Hubbard.

The bids will opened on October 4.
