IRONWOOD -- A suspect remains at large after the Michigan State Police investigated a report of fake money being used at the Gogebic County Fair.

Troopers were alerted to the situation on Thursday. A large amount of fake $20 bills were used at the fair, totaling about $300.

After investigating the complaint, troopers conducted a warranted search of a home in Ironwood, where they found several more counterfeit bills.

A suspect has been indentified by police, but has not been taken into custody at this time.

Businesses and individuals should be on the alert for counterfeit bills and contact their local police agency if they suspect they have received fake money.
