The local eatery opened in May
CHATHAM -- This week's FOX U.P. Hidden Treasure is a brand new spot in Chatham that was brought to our attention by several Alger County viewers.
The Rock River Café, which opened in May, boasts "a fresh expression of local cuisine." It was started to help support the area's economy by using products from nearly 20 U.P. farmers and vendors.
Don't expect to find your run of the mill food items here. The owners say their menu is designed to represent the unique taste of Chatham, offering everything from Finnish pancakes to whitefish omelettes.
"What we provide here is a view into what people are doing in this area, what their culture is, and it's not only something to eat, but it's an experience of history and culture," says owner Pat Nesberg.
