MARQUETTE -- You know it's summer when the National Night Out community gatherings are taking place across the Upper Peninsula.
Residents of Snowberry Heights in Marquette got together for their National Night Out event. Hamburgers and hot dogs were provided, and everyone brought a side dish or dessert to pass.
There was also a representative from Marquette General Hospital with useful information for the residents.
The residents say they enjoy getting to know one another.
"I don't have to cook, get to meet your neighbors. I'm a newbie, so I'd like to come to as many things as I can to get to know people," said Snowberry resident, Karen Lohf.
Snowberry Heights annually participates in the program that's designed to promote neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships.
