For those employees of Manistique Papers still reeling from Friday's news that the company is filing for bankruptcy, Michigan Works! staff are making special arrangements for displaced workers to access available services
MANISTIQUE -- UPDATE: Monday, August 8, 9:30 a.m.
According to Michigan Works spokesman Robert Micheau, displaced mill workers looking for assistance from Michigan Works! do not have to stick to the schedule below.
Anyone seeking assistance can go to the Schoolcraft County Michigan Works! office during their business hours.

Michigan Works! staff will be on-hand this week to provide information on filing unemployment insurance.
Since the number of workers in need of help exceeds the resources at Michigan Works!, staff are encouraging Manistique Papers workers to access those resources at certain times.
Any worker who wishes to file online can do so here, or by calling 1-866-500-0017.

8-9 a.m.: A-D
9-10 a.m.: E-G
10-11 a.m.: H-J
11 a.m.-12 p.m.: K-M
12-1 p.m.: N-P
1-2 p.m.: Q-S
2-3 p.m.: T-V
3-4 p.m.: W-Z
MPI workers will have access to computers, the Internet, and phones at Michigan Works! The Schoolcraft County Michigan Works! hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The office is located at 200 North Maple Street in Manistique.
