The shelter is at capacity
MARQUETTE -- Animals at UPAWS will now get to be spayed or neutered thanks to a rummage sale in Marquette this weekend.
Organizers say there was a good turnout for the first-ever fundraiser benefitting the animal shelter. A thousand dollars was raised Friday and around $800 came in Saturday. Sunday, most everything was free, but donations were gladly being accepted.
All items for sale came from members of the community.
The shelter in Negaunee Township is at capacity.
All of the money raised will go towards a grant to spay or neuter additional homeless animals.
