As anyone who has served our country can tell you, that bond with fellow soldiers is one that sticks with you your entire life

HARVEY -- Sunday afternoon at Wahlstrom's in Harvey, members of the Marine Corps League got together for their annual picnic.

Marines, both retired and active, can be a part of the national organization that fundraises for its respective community.

Members say they believe once a Marine, always a Marine.

"It's really important, as a group of individuals coming from the Marine Corps, we have that common bond, being in the Marine Corps," says member Mark Norris.  "Having served our country, we have a lot of the same beliefs and values as far as our country, and the Marine Corps, and the flag, and what it stands for, and we just get together to kind of celebrate all that with friends and fellow Marines."

The Marine Corps League encourages any Marine, past or present, to join them.
