DELTA COUNTY -- The Delta County Election Commission has unanimously approved the language of two petitions to recall State Senator Tom Casperson.

The recall supporters said Senator Casperson's support of the Emergency Financial Manager bill is the reason why they want him removed from office.

Richard Lake filed the petitions again after he had lawyers clarify the wording, based on criticisms made by the panel in June.

The petitions have to be signed within 90 days by 25 percent of registered voters in the district in order to put the recall on the November ballot.

"Well, we need to get all of these 13 counties that are involved in this district to volunteer to circulate these petitions first before we can even collect any signatures," said recall supporter Tom Ross.

Ross said the group will try to collect the first batch of signatures at the U.P. State Fair in August.
