MARQUETTE -- On Friday, downtown Marquette will be transformed into a blueberry heaven during the tenth annual Blueberry Festival.
The festival will, once again, take place on West Washington and South Front Streets from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Businesses on that block will feature sidewalk sales and Blue Specials, while restaurants will offer items featuring the blueberry.
New to the festival this year will be a dance performance by the Beladinas and a magic show by Eric the Magnificent.
Organizers say this decade-spanning event has truly become a community tradition.
"Well, it's just a great activity for downtown Marquette," said Becky Salmon of the Downtown Development Authority. "People can come on down, enjoy the festivities. It has a great sense of community, great deals, and great food."
The festival will wrap up at the UpFront & Company with a blueberry pie eating contest at 8 p.m.
