Marquette board of education seats up for election

MARQUETTE -- There is still time for interested folks in Marquette to run for positions on the Marquette Area Public School Board of Education.

The board will have two seats available to be filled in the November election.

The seats are currently held by Board President Tony Retaskie and Trustee Mark Smith and are four-year terms.

The deadline for filing petitions for interested candidates is Tuesday, August 16, at 4 p.m.

Petitions are available from the Marquette County Clerk.
