MUNISING -- Sunny skies and warm temperatures made for a perfect day as Munising residents browsed at the Farmer's Market Tuesday.

The market happens every Tuesday in the Bayshore Park from 4 to 7 p.m. starting in May.

This is the 4th season and it features 20 to 30 vendors from around Alger County.  Vendors include farmers with fresh produce, crafts and baked goods.

Organizers say it's an important part of a healthy community.

"I think it really adds to the sense of community, closer community, also just better variety of very fresh food, and you know, it's really important to shop locally for a variety of reasons," said market co-manager, Jill Baugnet.

During the months of July and August, the market runs in conjunction with the "Music in the Park" series.

The market will run until mid-October.
