MENOMINEE COUNTY -- A downstate man is in jail Tuesday after a police pursuit that resulted in a drug arrest.
It all started a little after midnight when a Menominee County deputy initiated a traffic stop near US-2 and LaFave Lane.
The 33-year-old Allegan man did not stop for police. Menominee County authorities then pursued the vehicle into Delta County.
Michigan State Police troopers eventually intercepted and deployed stop sticks near White's Grocery just outside of Escanaba. Several of the car's tires were deflated, and the suspect was taken into custody. He's charged with fleeing and eluding police, resisting and obstructing, operating under the influence of drugs, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
He is being held at the Menominee County Jail pending arraignment.
