NEGAUNEE -- If you're looking for a great family event this weekend, the YMCA's Teal Lake Triathlon is still looking for participants and volunteers.

The event features a quarter-mile swim, a 20K bike ride and a 5K run for those 12 and up, with a shortened race for kids.

Registration is currently underway and will remain open until the day before the race.  There are no race day registrations.

Organizers say it's the perfect race for beginners.

"It's a good triathlon to start out if you're a beginning triathlete; if you don't want to swim, bike and run, you can also get a team," said race organizer Jenna Zdunek.  "I can give you help getting a team; give me a call here and I can help you if you want to just run or just bike or just swim."

All proceeds will benefit the YMCA's Strong Kids Scholarship Campaign.

For more information on registration or volunteering, call the YMCA at (906) 227-9622 or visit their website.
