MARQUETTE -- In other health news, a fitness fad is gaining popularity in Marquette and it's being introduced by one gym in the form of a challenge.

Snap Fitness's downtown location is kicking off their 30-day yoga challenge July 16.  For those 30 days, Snap will be offering three yoga classes daily plus a t-shirt, a water bottle, and a kick-off party.  The program costs $200 for non-members and $190 for members.

Coordinators say it's the perfect way to get into yoga.

"What they have found, studies have shown that if you consistently do something for 30 days, they say you create a habit, and what we're trying to do with this challenge is to create a habit that you use yoga as a habit to release stress and to improve the quality of your life for optimal health," said Fitness Director Cyndi Souza.

After the 30 days, the program will wrap up with a drumming ceremony, promoting vibrational healing.
