WALLACE -- A nearly head-on crash in Menominee County is testament to the effectiveness of seatbelts.

According to the Michigan State Police in Stephenson, the two-car crash happened around 11:30 a.m. CDT Sunday morning on US-41 in Wallace, north of 15 Mile Road.

A car driven by Jenette Weaver of Menominee was turning into a business.  She did not see the oncoming vehicle and turned into its path.

The second driver, Thomas Baryenbruch of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, was unable to avoid the crash, and the two vehicles hit nearly head-on.

Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt.

Despite extensive damage to both vehicles, only Baryenbruch's passenger complained of some neck pain.  No other injuries were reported.

The accident remains under investigation.
