ISHPEMING -- This weekend, downtown Ishpeming will be home to the first "Main Street Cruisin' Car Show" and ride event.
The show will close down Main Street for the day Saturday to feature classic cars.
Participants pay five dollars to register their vehicle for the show, and any car can be registered regardless of year, make or model.
After the show, the cars will take part in a "cruise" throughout the City of Ishpeming.
"I've been to a downtown car show before and just the atmosphere is like no other, because people not only reminisce about their vehicles but how the way things used to be," said show organizer and downtown business owner, Jon Simon.
Registration will start Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and the show will start at 1 p.m. with the cruise taking place from 4 to 5 p.m. Following the cruise, there will be a downtown street fest with live entertainment from the Fast Eddie Blues Band and refreshments from local businesses.
