HOUGHTON -- One of the three men accused of stealing thousands of dollars in electronic equipment from homes in Houghton County will be spending more time behind bars.

Twenty-three-year-old Shaun Olson was sentenced to a year in jail Monday morning, with 50 days credit for time served.  The judge also ordered that he serve three years probation under maximum security.  Prior to sentencing, Olson apologized for his role in the crime spree.

“I'd just like to apologize, first to the victims and then to the community as a whole, for putting them in fear of what we did,” said Olson.  “I want to apologize to the court for wasting its time and most of all to my family for putting them through this.”

Olson must also pay close to $1,200 in restitution.   He was given a 12-month delay of sentence for a second charge of home invasion.
