ESCANABA -- One person is hospitalized and another jailed after an incident in Escanaba early Sunday morning.

According to Escanaba Public Safety, the incident happened around 3 a.m. on the 1100 block of Second Avenue North. 

They report that the suspect got into an altercation with another person and got into her vehicle to drive off.  Her passenger was not able to get into the vehicle fast enough and was run over.

The suspect was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated causing serious injury.

The victim was taken to OSF Saint Francis for treatment and later transferred to Marquette General Hospital.

Names have not been released yet.
