HUMBOLDT TOWNSHIP -- Humboldt Township residents will get the chance to get out and catch some fish at the Humboldt Township Fishing Derby on Saturday.
The fishing derby will be held at the Humboldt Township Park pond.
The event is held during free fishing weekend.
In addition to fishing, there will be free brats and hotdogs along with over $3,000 worth of prizes, and any child that attends will leave with a prize.
Several western Upper Peninsula vendors will be on hand.
"It creates great unity, it supports fishing and good sportsmanship," said Humboldt Township Supervisor Joe DeRocher. "We will have an individual that's donating their time to show the kids how to fly fish and again we've got a really great site there and a nice facility and it's just a great family event."
Organizers say over 200 children attended the derby last year.
