DOLLAR BAY -- A talking house may seem like science fiction, but it's really just a new trend in the real estate industry.
Ever drive by a for sale sign and wish you could find out more?
If there's also a talking house sign like the one at a property in Dollar Bay, you can turn on your AM radio and hear all about it.
The house is one of several in the Keweenaw with a radio transmitter installed, which continuously plays an informative recording on a designated AM station.
"They hear up to five minutes about the home and what it's all about," said North Wind broker, Glenn Schuldt. "A lot of times you can't tell just from looking at the outside. This is like having a real estate agent stand out by the curb, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."
The radio signal will work up to 300 feet away from the transmitter.
