SANDS TOWNSHIP -- Update:  Thursday, 10:05 a.m. EST

The man injured in the ORV accident off M-553 has been identified as Tyler Leaf, 20, of Marquette.

Leaf was transported to Marquette General Health System and admitted to the intensive care unit.

Leaf is said to be in stable condition at this time according to the Marquette County Sheriff's Office.

He was wearing his helmet, and alcohol is not a factor in the crash.

A 20-year-old Marquette man is hospitalized following an ORV accident.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Sands Township about a mile west of M-553.

According to the Sheriffs Department, it appears the man lost control of the ORV, went off the trail and hit a tree.

A person walking on the trail found the driver lying on the ground unresponsive.  He was taken to Marquette General Health System.

His name and condition have not been released.
