Senate approves cut

LANSING -- It looks like Michigan public universities will face a 15 percent cut in state aid.

The State Senate approved the cut Tuesday.  It's expected to pass the House as well and then be sent to Governor Snyder later this month.

Universities would face even sharper cuts if they try to increase their tuition by more than seven percent.
