MICHIGAMME -- The Marquette County Sheriff's office is investigating a meth lab dump site Tuesday evening that was discovered in Michigamme.
A man looking for mushrooms off of Cardinal Red Road recently came upon some suspicious looking garbage in the woods and notified the authorities.
Sheriff's Deputy Dean Rushford inspected the site and suspected that the contents of the bags, such as lithium batteries and ephedrine packages, contained components needed to cook meth.
UPSET arrived on the scene and inspected the site and determined that it was a one pot cook meth lab that was a minimal hazard.
"Due to this type of drug that's easily made, it can be made with in a matter of hours," said Rushford. "The contents can be discarded very easily down a dirt road, down a ravine or next to a river."
Next, they will dispose of the items, sending some of them to the crime lab in Marquette for analysis.
No arrests have been made.
