Summer weather means more cuts and bruises for kids, so this week, K.I. Sawyer Elementary School will be holding a health and safety fair
K.I. SAWYER -- The health and safety fair will feature more than 25 vendors, ranging from local fire and police departments to the Marquette Food Co-Op, which will teach kids about healthy eating.
Organizers say the goal is to help residents see what kind of services their area has to offer.
"If they have any questions, we're going to have professionals here to answer all of those questions, especially in preparation for the summer when kids are going to be running outside, hopefully, and playing if they have any, you know, little accidents or something, parents will know where to turn," says Chelsea Kallery of Gwinn Community Services.
In addition to the fair, there will also be a bike carnival for children featuring a bicycle mechanic and a bike wash.
The event will be held this Tuesday, May 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the K.I. Sawyer Elementary School parking lot.
It's open to the public.
