WASHINGTON, DC -- The artwork of a Manistique teen will be on display in the nation's Capitol this summer. That's according to a press release from Congressman Dan Benishek.
Kirsten Brown's work, "Youth," was the winner of the 2011 Congressional Art Competition in the First Congressional District. Her piece will be on display in the U.S. Capitol Complex.
According to Congressman Benishek, “We are honored to have Kirsten’s work of art represent Northern Michigan in Congressional Art Competition. I know visitors to the Capitol will enjoy seeing her work among the many other exceptional pieces from around the country. Kirsten is clearly a gifted young artist with a very bright future ahead of her.”
Kirsten Brown is a senior at Manistique High School.
Brown’s artwork will be displayed in an exhibition in the Capitol that will open in June. The 30th annual Congressional Art Competition is sponsored by The Congressional Institute.
