ESCANABA -- Members of the Green Bay Packers made a quick stop in Escanaba Tuesday and surprised some lucky senior citizens.
The visit was also part of their U.P. Tailgate Tour.
Many of the residents at the Northwoods Assisted Living Center are die-hard Packer fans.
Kelly O'Connell and his sister were there visiting family. O'Connell has been to every game at Lambeau Field since 1973. But his 89-year-old father, Bill, is just as big a fan as he is.
"When you're a Packer fan, the players and the organization appreciates everything the fans do," said O'Connell. "When I found out that the tour bus is going to stop at Northwoods, where my father and stepmother are residents, I rushed right over to enjoy in the festivities."
The players autographed footballs and helped the residents play a game of bingo.
