MARQUETTE -- The Marquette Public School's Board got a step closer to finding its next superintendent at Tuesday night's meeting.
After reviewing the 10 candidates' credentials, submitting their top choices and discussing them, the board narrowed down the list to four who will be interviewed.
They are Debra Veiht, the current Marquette interim superintendent; Bryan Deaugustine, high school principal at Newberry; Menominee Superintendent Erik Bergh; and Christine Weymouth, an assistant superintendent at Farmington Area Public Schools in Minnesota.
"I'm pleased with the top four candidates we selected this evening. I think they're all highly qualified, and I think any of them would serve this district well. I'm looking forward to interviewing them," said MAPS Board Vice President, Scott Brogan.
Interviews will begin Friday and continue Saturday when the board will make its final decision.
