MARQUTTE TOWNSHIP -- It was a special day for a special 33-year-old local business.

Grandchamp, McBride and Prophet, public accountants, broke ground on their brand new, energy efficient office space in Marquette Township Monday afternoon.

The new 6,700 square foot professional building will be located in the growing cornerstone office park and will help house their staff.

Built by Sunrise Builders, Inc., the new structure will be a 1.1 million dollar investment in Marquette Township.

The accounting firm says there's great opportunity in their new location.

"It seems like Marquette Township is growing pretty fast economically, and it's pretty much in the center of Marquette County, and I think it's accessible, both of the residents to the City of Marquette and to the west end," said company president, Fred Grandchamp.

Construction of the new office building is scheduled to be completed by October.
