More than 1,000 students graduated
MARQUETTE -- If you ask any Northern student, they'll tell you that any day is a great day to be a Wildcat. And for this year's graduating class of more than 1,000 people, Saturday was arguably the best day to be a Wildcat.
More than 800 students participated in Saturday morning's commencement ceremonies. That actually set a new record, believe it or not.
Rather than ask the graduates what they majored in or where they'll be working, we thought it would be more fun to ask them where they saw themselves in ten years.
"Hopefully as a city manager of one of the local U.P. communities," says Masters graduate Brian Chapman.
"I see myself teaching in a public school somewhere, probably with a Masters," says graduate Zachary Beeksma.
"Hopefully I see myself practicing medicine somewhere in Michigan," says John Friesen. Meghan Edwards added: "And I also hope to be practicing medicine somewhere out West."
Clearly some ambitious graduates.
The commencement speaker was Dr. Mark Lovell, a 1977 N.M.U. graduate who is an internationally recognized expert in neuropsychology.
