They say they strive to be open and transparent

KENNECOTT EAGLE MINE SITE -- The community will soon be getting a chance to learn more and give their feedback about Rio Tinto's Kennecott Eagle Mine site.

Kennecott Eagle Minerals will be offering multiple community forums next week in Marquette County and Powell Township.

The community has asked to learn more about the project, and Kennecott is responding to those requests with these forums.

Construction has been going on at the site for a year now, and they'd like to give the public an overview of their progress.  They say they're aiming to be transparent about the site and hope to foster an information exchange with community members.

"We expect a variety of questions that may be on the community's minds," says Matt Johnson, manager of external affairs.  "We look forward to hearing those questions and offering more information."
